# Activity analysis

## Open an activity

Select a title in Activities, or open one from Analytics, Calendar or Records. The summary shows available distance, duration, pace, heart rate, ascent, cadence, power, energy and steps. Secondary measurements without reliable data are omitted.

Long recordings may initially show analysis progress; details appear automatically when ready.

## Route and signals

The route retains its endpoints and recording gaps. Separate segments are not joined. If the basemap is unavailable, the recorded route is retained.

Select a signal present in the activity: pace, heart rate, power, cadence, elevation speed or gait measurements. Device-reported gait and motion-sensor estimates have distinct labels. Drag the range slider to inspect a window. Moving the pointer over the chart locates the corresponding active time on the route. Pauses are excluded from this clock; elapsed and paused time appear under Sources & quality.

For rendering performance, charts reduce samples while preserving extrema and gaps. The data table shows those same display samples. Use the original archive when you need raw events; do not reconstruct them from the chart export.

## Splits and courses

Splits include kilometres and the final partial segment, with distance, duration and pace. A split with a sample interval can open that section of the chart. Reliable split-time estimates follow the same rules as the phone; unsupported values remain missing.

Activities associated with a course show its saved steps, pace or heart-rate targets, execution time and time in target within valid coverage. Later plan changes do not rewrite the course saved with that activity.

## Physiology and provenance

Physiology presents available heart-rate zones, gait, in-workout HRV, training effects, recovery estimates, efficiency, decoupling and climbs. Each needs supporting evidence. In-workout HRV is not a measure of overnight readiness or a medical diagnosis.

Sources & quality includes activity origin, GPS and heart-rate coverage, gaps, elevation coverage, RR intervals, rejected samples, recording devices and the weight used for energy estimation. Weather comes from the saved activity.

Read [Metric definitions](metrics) for calculation conditions. Summary-only imports do not acquire invented routes, splits or sensor traces.

## Save your analysis

Export analysis JSON includes the page data, display signals and route segments. It can contain precise locations and physiological measurements, so check recipients before sharing it. Individual charts can also be saved as PNG.
